Christian pastoral counseling is an integral part of the church's mission in caring for the spiritual and emotional lives of its congregation. Amid growing mental health needs, especially in the post-pandemic era, the church is called to respond holistically. John 10 offers a rich theological portrayal of the Good Shepherd as a foundation for pastoral counseling. This study aims to analyze the shepherding principles in John 10 as the theological basis of Christian pastoral counseling, and to analyze the relevance of John 10-based pastoral counseling in holistically responding to the mental health needs of the congregation. A qualitative method with library research and a biblical hermeneutics approach was used. The findings indicate that the principles of deep knowing, soul care, and self-sacrifice in John 10 form a strong theological foundation for holistic pastoral counseling. Pastoral counseling centered on the Good Shepherd model bridges spiritual and psychological dimensions and effectively responds to the mental health needs of today's congregation.
